As Melco-Mec Egypt is well known in the five stars market, it gained the contract of CAIRO AIRPORT HALL 1, 2 &3 after a tough competition.

After being well renowned in the Egyptian market for its high performance and unsurpassable quality since year 1983, Melco-Mec Egypt became the sole distributor for North Africa market and Sudan. The company already secured various projects in the emerging market of Sudan, and it is going ahead for securing many projects in Morocco.

2002

After tough competition with Kone, Otis, Schindler, Melco-Mec Egypt gained the contract of SAN STEFANO Grand Plaza in Alexandria.

This project is the biggest one during year 2002 in Egypt, it contains about 70 units.

October – New Series “NexWay” was launched for custom type high-speed passenger elevators. “NexWay” has a wide range of cage designs for greater design flexibility. Advanced operational functions are also adopted for greater passenger satisfaction.

April – Mitsubishi Electric introduced the fastest elevator in the world – 1080 m/min (18 meters/second).

2001

April – A new generation of Mitsubishi MRL passenger elevators was launched, announcing the launch of “ELENESSA” in the market.

March – More advanced and prestigious supervisory control system Sigma AI-2200 to medium or large sized buildings, with 3 to 8 elevators in a same supervisory control panel.
